The SRG/ILS Group has been very busy this spring with multiple new signings and a ton of new releases coming very soon. Below is a few highlights of what we have been up to lately.
Nou Vo Management and Production
Formed by Ben Aubin, Pras Michel (Fugees), and Riqaud Simon, Nou Vo was established to provide artists of the largely underserved population of Haitian and Creole musicians and fans a mainstream outlet for success. Upcoming releases include new music from Mickael Marabou, Wanito, and Darline Desca. All releases will include features from some of the biggest Afro-Beat artists on the scene today.
Velenosi Entertainment Group
ISBA Music and the Velenosi Entertainment Group, headed by Maurice Velenosi, have been a mainstay for francophone music the world over for many years. Isba’s catalog of over 200 albums currently distributed by Sony Entertainment will become part of SRG/ILS’ growing roster.
Velenosi Ent is also the home of Classical Crossover star Giorgia Fumantiwho has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in the genre including Luciano Pavarotti, José Carrera, and Lang Lang. Giorgia new album will be announced soon.
Make Noise Recordings
Kwamé Holland’s Make Noise Recordings is the home of Vivian Green who is currently working on a very special new album to be released later this year. Kwamé “The Boy Genius” is a rapper, producer, songwriter and so much more. Make Noise will be releasing new and classic music from Kwamé in 2024.
Saukrates
Toronto based rapper, singer, and producer Saukrates is continuing his relationship with SRG/ILS imprint Frostbyte Records with several reissue recordings coming this summer.
Blaq Ink Entertainment
Chip-Fu, also known as Worriez, has been an important figure in Hip-Hop and Reggae music for decades. In the early 1990s, he formed the Fu-Schnickenswith fellow lyricists Joe and Lennox, garnering widespread acclaim with hits like “What’s Up Doc? (Can We Rock)” featuring Shaquille O’Neal. Chip’s forthcoming album, Royal Blood, is set to be released later this year and will feature a new collaboration with Shaq.
Love Touch Records
A long-time fixture in Toronto’s music scene, Gil Masuda’s 25 years of contributions as a DJ/Producer are undeniable. From hip hop to rare groove, funk and boogie records, Gil’s passion for vinyl culture led to the birth of his own label, Love Touch Records.
Living the Dream
Headed by Terry Harvey, Living The Dream is a newly formed record label made up of veteran music promoters whose vision is to further the careers of established and new artists across multiple genres including Blues, R&B, and Rock.
