Mike Phillips continues to display his unique combination of Jazz and R&B in the new video for the classic Slave hit “Watching You” from his latest album Pulling Off The Covers.
Mike’s version includes guest vocals from R&B superstar Brian McKnight. Brian is also featured in the video. While Mike and his band perform the song on a sound stage on the West Coast, Brian is inserted with his impassioned vocals from his home on the East Coast. Just as with Mike’s previous video for the song “Flava In Ya Ear (remix)”, he shows how artists can still be creative even during a pandemic and quarantine.
Mike’s latest album, Pulling Off The Covers, is a unique collection of songs that have inspired him throughout his career. The album features collaborations with many of Mike’s friends including Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, PJ Morton, Raheem Devaughn, Avery*Sunshine, and Trombone Shorty.
